A Little History
Bok Tower Gardens was founded in 1929 by Edward W. Bok, a Pulitzer Prize–winning editor who wanted to create a peaceful sanctuary for nature and the arts. At its heart stands the Singing Tower, a 205-foot Art Deco and Gothic Revival masterpiece built from pink Georgia marble and coquina stone.
Inside the tower is a rare carillon — an instrument of 60 bells that still plays concerts throughout the day, echoing across the gardens.
