Why chlorine tablets do not go in the skimmer basket
- People or children can get hold of them with ease and chlorine can cause serious injury.
- You are introducing a high concentration of chlorine through the equipment and not after the equipment where a chlorinator should be plumbed in, meaning metals and plastics on the heater, pump and filter are going to fail sooner.
- The skimmer you are putting them in is plastic, so you are making this brittle and when it cracks, to replace this we have to concrete saw a 2 foot by 1 foot hole in your nice deck.
Fixing or replacing a chlorinator is more affordable
than replacing a cracked skimmer, which (including deck work) runs into the thousands of dollars.
We always recommend using a properly installed chlorinator, which introduces chlorine after the equipment — the way it’s meant to be done.
If your chlorinator isn’t working correctly or you’re unsure how your pool is being treated, give us a call. We’re happy to help you protect your pool, your equipment, and your investment.
