My Pool Repairs
Since it’s National Dog Day, here’s a friendly reminder that the pool isn’t just for people — many dogs love cooling off in the water too! But before you let your four-legged friend jump in, it’s important to keep dog pool safety in mind. A few simple steps can help keep them safe while making swim time fun for everyone.
Train gradually – Not all dogs are natural swimmers. Start slow, let them get comfortable at the shallow end, and guide them gently. Never force them in.
Use a pet ramp or steps – Make sure your dog knows how to get out of the pool safely. A ramp or wide steps can prevent accidents and ease their exit.
Get a doggy life vest – Especially for smaller breeds, older dogs, or first-timers. These vests add extra safety and peace of mind.
Rinse after swimming – Chlorine and salt can irritate your dog’s skin. A quick rinse with fresh water helps keep their coat and skin healthy.
Supervise always – Just like kids, dogs should never be left unsupervised in or around the pool.
With the right training and equipment, your pup can safely enjoy pool days right alongside you.
Because in Florida, swimming is a family affair — paws included!
