My Pool Repairs
A dirty filter can lead to cloudy water, poor circulation, algae growth, and overworked equipment.
Whether you have a cartridge, sand, or DE filter, keeping it clean is key to maintaining a healthy, sparkling pool.
Here are a few quick tips to keep your filter in top shape:
Cartridge Filter:
– Rinse with a garden hose every 2–4 weeks
– Deep clean with filter cleaner every 2–3 months
– Replace cartridges as needed (usually every 1–2 years)
Sand Filter:
– Backwash when pressure rises 8–10 PSI over normal
– Replace sand every 3–5 years
– Don’t forget to rinse after backwashing!
DE (Diatomaceous Earth) Filter:
– Backwash and recharge with fresh DE powder
– Clean grids 2–3 times a year
– Inspect for tears or wear
Pro Tip: If your pressure gauge is reading high or your pool water just isn’t staying clear, your filter might be begging for attention.
And if cleaning your filter sounds like a hassle?
That’s where we come in.
Let My Pool Repairs handle it and keep your pool system running like a dream.
