My Pool Repairs

If your pool is looking tired or feeling rough, it might be more than just age—it could be time for a resurfacing. In Florida’s hot, humid climate, pool surfaces wear down faster than in other regions. Watch out for these signs:
Rough or sandpaper-like texture – If walking on the floor hurts your feet, the plaster has likely eroded.
Stains that won’t go away – Mineral or metal stains that resist cleaning may be deep in the surface.
Discoloration or fading – Sunlight and chemicals gradually bleach the surface, leaving it dull or blotchy.
Visible cracks or delamination – Cracks, bubbles, or areas where the plaster is peeling or flaking are signs of damage beneath the surface.
Frequent algae growth – A worn surface provides perfect hiding spots for algae, even with proper chemical levels.
Most pool surfaces in Florida need resurfacing every 7–15 years, depending on the material and how well it’s maintained.
Not sure if it’s time? My Pool Repairs can inspect your pool and give you honest recommendations on whether it’s time for a fresh new finish—and walk you through your options (pebble, quartz, plaster, and more!).
