Saltwater pools use a salt cell (chlorine generator) to convert salt into chlorine automatically. They’re popular in Florida because they’re:

- Require fewer chemical adjustments
- Offer lower long-term chemical costs
- But keep in mind: the system needs maintenance, and replacement salt cells every few years.
Traditional chlorine pools use liquid or tablet chlorine added manually. They’re:

- More flexible for specialty chemicals or large bather loads
- But you’ll need to handle chemicals more often, especially in Florida’s hot summers when chlorine evaporates quickly.
