My Pool Repairs

It’s Water Lovers Thursday, and we’re still feeling fabulous after National Pink Flamingo Day earlier this week!
While you might know them as the ultimate lawn ornament, real flamingos are just as flashy—and far more fascinating. These tall, graceful birds thrive in shallow wetlands, lakes, and lagoons, where they stir up mud with their feet and scoop up algae, crustaceans, and brine shrimp with their beaks. That diet is exactly what gives them their signature pink color!
Did you know? Flamingos aren’t born pink—they hatch with gray feathers and slowly turn pink thanks to pigments called carotenoids in their food. So basically… they literally are what they eat!
While most flamingos are found in the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Africa, wild American flamingos occasionally make rare visits to Florida, especially in the Everglades and the Keys. So if one ever shows up near your pool—congrats, you’ve been blessed by fabulousness!
We celebrate every creature that reminds us water is life—and if they do it in pink? Even better!
