My Pool Repairs

We came across this bold visitor on one of our pool projects—a scarlet kingsnake!
These eye-catching snakes are often mistaken for their venomous cousin, the coral snake, but here’s a handy rhyme to help you tell the difference:
“Red Touch Yellow – Kills a Fellow
Red Touch Black – Venom Lack
Yellow Touches Red – Soon You’ll Be Dead
Red Touches Black – Friend of Jack”
The scarlet kingsnake is harmless and actually beneficial, helping keep rodent and reptile populations in check. Still, it’s always smart to observe from a safe distance and avoid handling any wild snakes unless you’re trained to do so.
You never know what you’ll find when working outdoors in Central Florida—and we’ve definitely seen it all at My Pool Repairs!
