My Pool Repairs

Spotted basking by ponds, rivers, and sometimes even neighborhood pools, the painted turtle is the most widespread and recognizable turtles in North America—and a true lover of all things aquatic!
These colorful reptiles get their name from the striking red, yellow, and black markings on their shells and skin—almost like they were brushed with watercolor paints. They spend most of their lives in or around calm freshwater, swimming gracefully and sunbathing on rocks or logs like tiny sunseekers.
Cool Fact: Painted turtles can survive underwater for months in cold conditions by slowing their metabolism and absorbing oxygen through their skin. Basically, they’re the Zen masters of the turtle world.
They’re also surprisingly fast swimmers for their size and love hunting aquatic insects, plants, and small fish. So if you spot one by your pool or a nearby pond, you’ve got a tiny, ancient water warrior on your hands—they’ve been around for millions of years!
We love when nature makes a cameo while we’re working—just another reminder that water connects us all.
