My Pool Repairs

Florida’s warm, humid climate is the perfect breeding ground for algae—but that doesn’t mean it has to take over your pool. The key to prevention? Stay proactive. Keep your water balanced, equipment running smoothly, and surfaces clean.
Maintain proper chlorine levels – Your sanitizer is your first line of defense. Don’t let levels dip, especially during hot weeks. A chlorine level of 1–3 ppm is ideal.
Brush and vacuum regularly – Algae spores love to cling to walls and corners. Weekly brushing and vacuuming (even if the pool looks clean) can stop growth before it starts.
Run your pool pump daily – In Florida, aim for 8–12 hours a day to keep water circulating and chemicals evenly distributed.
Shock the pool when needed – After heavy rain, a party, or a missed cleaning, a quick shock treatment can kill off early-stage algae.
And remember: filtration issues or old, underperforming equipment can also lead to algae outbreaks. That’s where we come in.
