My Pool Repairs

Throwback: A few years ago while we were busy cleaning up a pool, we got a special guest—this beautiful Little Blue Heron dropped by to inspect the job (and grab a few tadpoles and insects)!
Native to the southeastern U.S., these elegant wading birds are known for their slate-blue plumage, graceful movements, and love for shallow, calm waters. Whether it’s a marsh, lake… or even a freshly cleaned pool, they know where the good water is.
Unlike some of their louder cousins, Little Blue Herons are quiet hunters, slowly stalking fish, frogs, and insects in the water with ninja-like stealth. It’s always a treat to see one up close—and a great reminder of how important clean water is for all species, not just us humans.
Fun Fact: Juvenile Little Blue Herons are actually white! They gradually turn blue as they mature—kind of like they earn their “blue badge” over time.
We love when wildlife swings by to supervise—it means we’re doing something right.
